Hi I m currently using an older yamaha 795 av amp for my surround sound and a cambridge 640a amp for stereo listening. i have it set up so the preouts of the yamaha are feeding the av input of the cambridge with the volume set at 12 oclock. ive been very happy with my sound in stereo and surround. I recently invested in a panasonic bdp-30 blu ray player and now want to enjoy all that hd can offer which means a new av amp.what would be the best way to do this buy another av amp with preouts or ditch the cambridge? my wife doesn t like 2 amps and if i ve listened to music she can struggle to get it all back on even though ive shown her 100 times! is there an av amp about £400 that would match my stereo amp for sound? i listen more to music than films
