I would appreciate recommendations for a player for my new Astra (No USB/MP3 sockets). I want to ditch my CDs and use the player for around 20Cds. Sound quality is more important than other gizmos. Any thoughts would be very much appreciated.

Looking at Creative, Sony, i-touch and similar but they all seem to have a number of negatives. Any experience with these devices?

AND !! Looking at dual USB from 12V cigar sockets I have seen them for a few pounds on ebay and then around £12 from Griffin. Most specify i-pods including Griffin. Is it safe to connect my TomTom and as yet unspecified MP3 player to these 12v-USB sockets?
