I would be interested in people's views on Mordaunt-Short speakers - I have owned some MS812's (quite well regarded in their day) and more recently some MS10's (which no longer work). For the money I think they are great speakers.

I have heard that the Mezzo speakers (the Mezzo 6 especially) is a great range, but they are very hard to come by nowadays, not sure what position Mordaunt-Short as a company are in as they don't appear to have any new products recently and not much stock about.

I am keen to get hold of some MS10i or MS20i Pearl Editions as I've heard they were exceptional in their day...

Mordaunt Short & cambridge Audio are more or less the same company as i have been lead to believe

so there products have always gone well together. When i was trying out speakers some years back, the mezo 6 was the standout performer at it,s price range. It made the b&w alternative sound like mud & others that i cannot recall were outclassed.

It seems that the new range of C/A speakers could be M/S in all but name but others may know better

If you can pick up the last of the mezzo 6 i saw richer sounds selling them at @400 quid a few moths back. That would be a real bargain

I bought my 5.1 on 60day trial & (ofcourse) kept them..Nice finish & good value and although I am pleased with them, I cant give much comparitive evaluation.

Had a pair of MS05s back in the mid '90s and wish I'd never sold them (grass is always greener, right?).

Probably the funnest speakers I've ever heard. Proper little boogie boxes that just made anything you threw at them sound great.

Mordaunt-Short are part of Audio Partnership, who also own Cambridge Audio. I was told a few months ago that the MS brand is being rested in preference to development work on the Cambridge Audio Aero speakers.

Personally I've always liked Mordaunt-Short speakers, but particularly the pre-Audio Partnership ones. After AP's take-over I felt the Aviano and Mezzo ranges both had some very nice qualities.

Love my Mezzo 1's, £159.99 on their website although got mine for £100 from Richers Sounds. Sound great at all volumes well built and look good.

Does anyone have experience of the Performance series? WHF rated them very highly and the few that I have seen on the 'bay have gone for peanuts compared to RRP. Look very smart in gloss black and have distinctive cabinets.
