Monitor RX8 - poweramp? Also, is RX-W12 any good?

I am getting RX8s this week

and my AVR is Onkyo 906, but would adding a poweramp be even better for the RX8s?

Also, is the RX-W12 a good subwoofer for the money?

You can get RSW12's for a lot cheaper while they're available.......

The 906 will have enough power for the RX8's, it just depends how good you want them to sound. To get any beneit over the 906, you'd need to look above £500 for a power amp, something like the Rotel's.

Yes, you can get the for £375 --- half price.

The RSW12 for £349 is ridiculous!!!!! The new one can't be that much better, if at all.

I just mentioned a price - I didn't start a whole thread about it.

I do think sometimes that it's wrong not to be able to let WHF readers know about certain deals - you see forum members talking about certain products and they mention a price - which sometimes could be several hundred pounds more than either the going rate or what it can be obtained for. It winds me up sometimes that forum sponsors can't let forum members know. It all relies on someone off this forum seeing your price for a specific product, reading that specific thread about that product, and then actually posting it.

I'll amend the post you've pointed out and not mention a specific price in future......

But, Frank, how good is the sub? Will it extend to 20 hz and fill my room with tight musical bass?
