Hey

I found a Cherry ex-demo RSLCR for 159.00 that includes delivery, I was wondering if its worth it, as I am upgrading my speakers when I can afford it, and I have a diamond 9cc at the moment, and not really happy with the performance.

Thanks

Not unless you are getting RS6 fronts. Also, I don't think that is that cheap - I go mine ex demo for £185 in walnut a couple of years ago when there was not a sniff of the RX speakers.

As G said - only if you're getting the RS front speakers too.

£139 has been the going rate for them - well, it's been the best prices available for them - we were selling ours for £139 when we had them, but we shipped free of charge.

So it would sound terrible with my current 9.1's then?

Just reading somewere on here and some people say they mix and they cant hear the tonal mis-match

Too bad you dont have anymore in stock as would have phoned.

I just need something better than my centre, and cant afford new fronts at the moment

Not terrible, just odd.

Front and rear speakers can differ as the rear speakers normally sound different because they're way smaller than the fronts. Mixing in a different centre can have mixed results. If they are tonally similar it might be ok, but if they're quite different it can sound really odd. Panning effects and people talking while walking from one side of the screen to the other tends to show up the differences.

Maybe I will wait then.. as 150.00 seems expensive for ex-demo. and 20.00 for delivery, it cost less than this to ship a 20kg subwoofer.

Save up the dollars until I can replace all 3.

Cheers

I definitely think that's the best way. You would then be better off getting a nice front pair first and going without a centre until you can afford the matching one than buying the better centre first.

Very true.

Been looking and the starter level b&w's and BR2's or RS1's, but like the look of the mezzo;s as well.

Will have to demo everything
