Dear Lord!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First time listened to on How the west was won.

18 minutes of mesmerising drumming, how can I sit and listen for that long being gobsmacked the way through.

Also, a great test of system dynamics, punch and timing!!!!

Blown away :rockout:

Try to listen to the 4 Landover shows from the 1977 tour. They are available as soundboards. Bonham's peak was 36 minutes long, stopping only for 3 standing ovations. Amazing, simply amazing. Not only will it blow the 1972 solo out of the water, but also end the thread on ''Best Drummer''.

In the book "Light and Shade: Interiews with Jimmy Page" by Brad Tolinski, Page speaks extensively about Bonham's superhuman drumming and how on certain tracks in Zepp's early albums, it sounds like Bonzo was using 2 kick drums but actually there was only one. Page is also very proud of the way he miked Bonham's drums because at that stage in the development of recording technology, no one had paid much attention to recording drums properly. Former Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy does as excellent MobyDick solo in his tribute to Zepp concert "Hammer of the Gods". Guitar duties were very ably handled by Paul Gilbert.
