I'm looking to buy a projector around the £2,000 mark for a 6.5 foot screen, viewing distance 13 feet. I recently auditioned the Infocus IN82, and an ex demo Sim2 D80. I now realise that I suffer very badly from the rainbow effect - I found it incredibly distracting, even on the D80. As DLP is therefore not an option, does anyone have any views on good PJ's for my budget - I'm currently thining of the Panasonic PT AE2000, but before finding a dealer, does anyone else have anything they have used and can recommend. Main viewing is Freesat HD, with some upscaled DVD (will upgrade to Bluray soon!).

The Panasonic PT-AE2000E is indeed the pick of non-DLP at that price point (go higher and the exceptional JVC DILA models come into play), but it's about to be replaced by the PT-AE3000E, which may be even better. We're planning to test it very soon...

Or a Sanyo Z-2000 which I've had for a week as of today. 70" screen 1.0 gain screen, 9-10ft viewing distance, white and a bit smaller than the Panasonics, and deathly silent which really makes a difference as it's above our heads. £1200. bargain.

How are you getting on with the Sanyo Z-2000? What is your main viewing content, and are you pleased with how it performs? Any major gripes?
