I have a denon dab37 (30 watt per channel) with wharfedale 9.1's. There's just not enough power to the sound though, so I'm thinking of upgrading the speakers. I would upgrade the amp as well, but I need the usb input as most of my music is in mp3- as far as I can see there's no other option than the denon dm37 or onkyo 525, both of which are pretty weedy.

So, my question to all is: what could a microsystem such as the denon cope with driving? How big can I go? Or do i just have be satisfied with what I've got? (story of my life) ;)

help much appreciated

cheers,

heres to ziggy

The marantz cr502 has a USB input as far as I know.

It's also a compact unit and delivers 2x50w @ 6 ohms.

With a sensitivity of 97dB, frequency response of 24Hz - 20kHz and Dual 15" Cast Frame High Excursion Woofers, may be this could be your best bet in big fat good old style speakers!

What about some MORDAUNT SHORT MEZZO 2 speakers @ ~ £350. They have a sensitivity of 89 Db.
