Hi,
Thinking through possible system upgrade and at the same time moving to computer+DACpreamp+power amp playback, and with a lot of help from this forum, I came up with a configuration that needs a dac that incorporates preamp (with vol regulated out), has a good selelection of digital inputs, two analog inputs and remote control (power, source, vol).
I have been able to identify 2 dacs that have all the above: MGL Audio Mini DacPre, except power and source remote, (abt 500?) and Grace designs m902, does everything of the above (about 1500?). Questions:
1. price difference apart, is there any significant difference between the two? - sound quality, the way they work...
2. are there any more DACs that would fit the bill?
The computer is not deciced yet. Win7 netbook (if I figure out how to get bitperfect digital out of it using itunes) or MacMini (if I cannot).
Would appreciate advice.
