Yes yes, I know its been a topic a million times before, but...

I know they are able to rewrite some of the firmware, but does this mean that the IQ should be exactly the same on these two players? And therefore the review of the Oppo's IQ should be pretty close to what we can expect from the Cambridge BD?

I know it has been a topic before, but how much would either companies actually be able to refine on these chipsets - video? I mean, there is a reason why they both use third party chip sets for the video, and only refine the audio output. Cambridge off course being the expert on audio.

Yep, I only want a player with an IQ of at least 180! The player would then know what I want to see.

Image Quality, Andrew, Image Quality... :)

OIC. Well, there's a lot more able to influence quality, whether it's I or P, S or A, than just the choice of basic chipset. So I think it would be unwise to make any assumptions until you (or we) have seen both machines.
