Matching Mission MX 1 speakers to which amp?

Hi,

I'm a bit new to this lark and I am looking to get an amp and speakers setup for my living room. I've settled on the MX1s due to their recent award win and the fact that what I get is going to have to be positioned quite close to the wall due to my room layout - fussy positioning is something these don't seem to be phased by. I ruled out the Q Acoustic 2020s on for this reason. My budget is reasonably limited hence settling on a set of £150 speakers and not something more expensive.

I can't seem to find anything recommending an amp to match the MX1s - would either the Yamaha A-S500 or Marantz PM6003 suit, or are they a bit overkill? The Marantz is set as a match to the Q A 2020s so perhaps not... I would also be running the Chord Company Carnival Silver Screen cables as they come so highly recommended.

I was looking at some of the Cambride Audio amps, but they all seem to be a bit bright, which is not recommended with the Missions. The A-S500 also seems to be a little on the bright side, so is this also one to avoid?

Are there any highly recommended amps a little further down the price range that might be better suited to these speakers?

As I say, just starting out on all this, so any plain advice would go down a treat.

Cheers!

Additionally I've ruled out the Cambridge Audio Azur 340A SE due to it sounding too bright. The Rotel RA-04 SE could be an option, but I have concerns on the top end of this one too.

I think this would narrow down the two main contenders for audition to the Marantz and the Rotel, with the Pioneer A-A6 as a 'wild card' entry. Is it worth checking the Yamaha... just in case...?

Does anybody have a view on this, or are there any obvious Amps i've missed that aren't 5 stars on this site?

If you're worried by brightness then the Marantz is the better option. It has a smoother, more easy-going sound than either the Rotel or Yamaha.
