Just went to put this on and the power indicator lit up but no click when the amp kicks in.
I wondered if anyone has had a similar problem and what it might cost to repair as i'm thinking of taking it to Superfi in Nottm.
I paid £140 for it on Ebay about 9 months ago , so i don't want to pay to much for a repair etc.
I'm just using my old sherwood 7030 as a back up at the minute , but i've got used to the Marantz etc.

*Took it to Superfi earlier*

Just took it to Superfi in Nottingham , but they don't do repairs anymore.
They suggested looking on the Marantz website for a list of authorised Marantz service centres of which there are 3 listed , Oldham , middlsex and one other , none of which are remotely near to Nottingham.

I was wondering if anyone knows of any reputable shop etc in my area that would be able to do a decent repair on the amp , am getting a bit desperate now!

Cheers for that.

I just hope its cheaper to repair as it cost me £140 on ebay , might have to *** it to richer sounds as i don't know of anywhere else local to me in Nottingham.

You might also want to try Nottingham Hi Fi Centre on Alfreton Road.

I believe they're part of Super fi(correct me if i'm wrong though) who don't do repairs anymore.

I've just took it to Richer Sounds £40 to ship it off and for it to be looked at , was told it should be within 4 weeks(!) , guy forgot to add the KI bit to the description which he said he'd amend.

If its not to much then i'll get it repaired , for some reasons i have visions of it comeing back boxless and dented somewhere ....

I'm just hoping that its a reasonable cost and it works out ok.

Just got it back this evening.

Parts 2.00 pounds

Labour 37.00(!) pounds

VAT 5.85 pounds

I'm not to impressed with that labour charge.

The part was just a resistor in the power supply.

i think that is cheap. the engineer i used in london (05/06) was on £55 + vat an hour labour...

mind you a a solid 2 year gaurantee, 99.9 % of parts were in stock, he only had to walk from one end of building to the other.

And this is what your paying for, 30 years fixing kit, the knowlege this guy had was awesome....

job done properly, the first time....................sadly no more.....retired........
