Marantz PM6003 and CD6003 Headphone Question.

Hello everyone

My Marantz PM6003 and CD6003 set up has headphone connections on both the amp and cd player. I have just purchased a pair of Sennheiser HD 555 and would like to know which source connection would be the best to use, the amp or cd player. Does it make a difference ?

The obvious answer is to try them and find out. IMO the CDP is far better and on a par with my Head Box headphone amp.

I would think they are likely to be very similar if not identical in design and materials.

Therefore it would seem logical to opt for the purist route by choosing the CD player rather than the amp which is 'further down the line' from the source .
