Hello, I have a Marantz CD 17 ki Signature cd player and a Marantz PM17 mk11 amplifier running a pair of Castle Richmond 7i's wired up with Nordost Gold Flatline mk11 speaker cable and Nordost Blue Heaven interconnect. I have had this system for many years and i am very pleased with he sound. I once compared it with the new Cyrus kit and the Marantz kit beat it hands down.

My question is i want to go in to the mains cable route but my cabling on the cd player is fixed with standard cable and the amplifier cable is not one i recognise. It is not a figure 8 or an IEC cable. It has a two pin connection which i haven't seen any cables that match.

Does anyone out there know what mains cables i can buy and what the connection is called.

Hi vinnie66

I used to sell Marantz 17 Series and as far i as recall the amp had an upside down mains socket with two pins. Mains cables with IEC plugs to accomodate three pins should still fit.

All the best

Many thanks for your reply. I will try that out. I have two Cleareraudio mains leads so it's a pity to waste them.
