Hi everyone can anyone give me ideas on a good pair of speakers to suite my marantz gear in my 5 / 3 mtr room cheers Duncan

Probably have book shelf speakers not fused if they are new or second hand budget £1500 ish

Hi, your amp will be happy with some more sensitive speakers. And just remark, your room will allove you to select also some smaller floorstander. You have nice budget. Something like Fyne Audio F501E floorstanders will be starting point or some used Proac Tablette 10 if you wish high quality bookshelf speakers. Or Q Acoustics 5000 range or Concept range will also fit well to your Marantz amp. BR

Bear in mind, relatively few bookshelf speakers actually sound ok on a shelf! Most need decent stands and quite a few don’t like being too close to corners or the front wall (behind the speakers). And when you budget for stands you realise why slim floorstanders are popular, because they have a similar footprint.

Marantz Pearl Lite is pretty versatile, so I’d be confident it will be happy with most designs you’re likely to choose. Acoustic Energy, Q Acoustics, Dali and Wharfedale are just four brands that are popular in the UK. Are you willing to hear and look at some in a dealer?
