Mains cables- vindication at last ?

Whilst visitng a well known hifi forum , not sure i"m allowed to name the site here. I found video of the pioneer krp launch preview etc hosted by Mr Jim Catchside at pioneer head office 2008 .

Whilst on display the seperate media box can be seen clearly connected with some sort of woven power cable with a 350 wattgate connection .

I'm sure I must be missing something and strongly suspect I'm going to regret asking but vindication of what exactly ?
