Mains cable query

Excuse my ignorance, but I was wondering if I will get the same quality if I buy a Copper-line Alpha Power Cable but I add a IEC to Figure 8 Adaptor on the end (for my Sky HD box)?

Or is there a recommended Figure 8 cable to buy outright?

Hello all,

We can now terminate all of our power cables with the Furutech FI-8N Figure 8 Connector directly. You can view some information about this new connector on the 'News' page on our website.

The IEC to Figure 8 Adaptor is obviously still a good solution for those who already have a power cable with a Standard IEC plug and need to convert to Figure 8 but the Furutech FI-8N offers a considerable improvement in performance.

Have you tried using a IEC to Figure 8 Adaptor? Any difference in quality? I also think the additional £25 for the Figure 8 connection is unreasonable.

It does appear pricey but is it of value, does it add a dedicated earth to a class II product and most important does it out perform the Figure 8 adapter that clearer audio supply for a £5.

I use the Alpha with a a standard Figure of 8 adapter for my Sky HD, this has improved the picture quality, especially in darker SD transmissions

I would appreciated opinions of those who have used and compared the products with and without the Furutech FI-8N Figure 8

BIT LATE REPLYING, but the FI-8N is superb, easy to install and a doddle to wire in even thick cables, the connectors are reasonably priced for what you get in performance, typical Furutech, expensive but worth it!
