Hi,

Would like to seek some advise as regards to mains cable.

I just bought my Roksan Kandy K2 and would like to enhance the sound quality by replacing the mains cable with a better one.

I got no budget in mind yet, but based on review i was wondering whether Chord Company SuperScreen mains cable would be the suitable one, seems value for money.

I was recommended by my dealer, Ecosse The Big Orange. read the review, seems good also.

Need advise and help as i got no experience with Mains cable.

Thanks in advance 🙂

Chord Powerchord is very good too, in my opinion.

I have a superscreen , which i now use for the tv, after hearing the powerchords.......

1 metre lengths can be for for £60 too, (RRP £120-130)....

I'm located outside UK, can only get the 1.5 meters from my side. anyone got experience with The Big Orange?
Where can i find mains cable for my NAD C545BEE? It seems different from Roksan's mains.

Hi dennisk. I use the Chord Superscreen power cable with my Roksan K2, it really had a great impact on the overall sound. Not heard any of the other mains cables you mention though

really? i have a superscreen, it's made not a jot of difference on my amp or dac.

i would try something with a money back guarantee, that way if it does nothing for you...

Yah, thats funny - I could definitely tell when I upgraded my mains cable. As you say, I think trying before you buy (or with a money back guarantee) is the best way.

I just bought the Ecosse The Big Orange from my dealer as managed to get it at bargain price. S$210 (GBP 94) for 2 pcs of 1-metre One for Roksan Kandy K2 and one for NAD 545B EE

I can hear the difference after using the Ecosse The Big Orange power cable, but i can say the difference is not really that big. Vocal and music sounded warmer.

I'm not suprised, seeing the great kit you have on the "your system" forum.

Very good quality components should have better/bigger transformers in them, hence they are less sensetive for mains noise and cords, not completely though. I didn't try any Chord powercord but i tried many others, the only one that made a difference (not night and day) was a Wireworld Aurora and Electra bronze, didn't try the Electra silver or gold, they are way to expensive. But anyway, i shouldn't use freebi cords, the wires in the walls are better and thicker then that.
