hi,

I couldnt manage to get a CD player to test. But as I have song colletion on my laptop , I mostly looking to only use V-DAC

So tryingto tweak rest of the setup to get sound I am looking for. As I said, sound has improved afeter adding V-DAC but old songs dont sound sweet, natural. I will connect V-DAC to my M-audio AV-40 to see how it sounds.

Final update :

As I had a hunch that it's NAD C326BEE pre-amp section that could be issue amd not the speaker or cables . I decided to try using different pre amplifier instead of NADs build-in. Took a risk and bought old Sony TA-F770ES. It's rated at 100watt integrated amp. Initially I connected Quads 22l2 to Sony. Immediately realise vocals & intruments were now sounding natural. But Problem with Sony was bass , although it was powerful, it was not as tight as NADs. Then I connected Pre Out of Sony to 'Main in' of NAD. WOW ! !

Got best of both , Natural sweet sound with powerful tight bass. I also noticed , clear improvements in lower bass frequencies. System handled all type of music . Even old bollywood songs very sounding as I expected , and were very enjoyable. So IMO pre-amp section of NAD was not upto the mark for me. However Power amp section of NAD is just excellent ! Sony pre amp is just the thing I needed . Right now my search for desirable sound ends here.

I like to thanks all who replied to this thread.

My final setup :
Source :V-DAC
Pre Amp : Sony TA-F770ES
Power Amp : NAD C326BEE
Speakers : QUAD 22L2
Cable : QED Silver Anniversary.
