Now I am into The Hobbit I am slightly interested in this, which one is better in terms of picture and sound, this or the extended ones? Thanks

The EE are the best with regards to PQ. Especially The Fellowship is much improved compared to the theatrical version.

Yep the EE are much better as the The Fellowship theatrical version suffers from a really bad green tint to the picture that ruins all the shots of the shire, the extended edition dialled it out and is by far the better version for it. The other two are equal on picture quality though and don't have any issues like The Fellowship.

The extended edition boxset is the best set overall though and well worth the extra cash gel so go for that.

Trusted retailer who I've used a few times before, I can't get it any cheaper than that at the moment but that's a good deal. I've seen it once or twice for £19.99 but that's very rare.

Extras at a guess, loads and loads of extras. They may have split the films over two discs as well, dunno.

The set comprises all 3 movies on 6 blurays so each movie is split over 2 discs which is a bit of a pain plus 9 special faetures DVDs (I know...why not on blu ray right?) which are exhaustive to say the least and it's all presented in one of the best boxes out there. It's a glorious set and well worth the money, the movies are great too but a bit too long winded at times. Essential to any collection and will look lovely on your VT65
