Hello, I've recently purchased a pair of Monitor Audio RX6's. I've been searching for a good amp and sub match.

So far I like

AMP: Arcam A19
SUB: SVS PB-2000

Thoughts on these choices? Any input would be appreciated.

Thank you

Check out also Peachtree amps up from decco2.They will work fantastic with your RX6 and imo. better than a19.Ideally you would look out for a 125se if new.Remember a very good dac is also integrated in them when you compare price.Don´t worry if you go 2.nd hand, their support service is good too.

As for the sub,if you think you really need one,the rx6 are bass heavy, I would go for the SB 2000 instead. For HT purpose the PB will reach deeper I guess because of the ports. My choice would be the SB though. Both SVS are a good choice imo. at their price.

I listen to edm/techno/dubstep/rap/heavy metal. That's why I was thinking ported because a lot of that music has deep heavy bass. The decco2 is a bit out of my price range tbh. I'm from Australia, My price range is about $1300 for an amp.

If the peachtree´s are out of range (i would invest the money in one of them, the Nova 125se, instead for going for a sub) you could check out HK amps and Marantz at the price of the Arcam.I think you would get more a ballsy sound out of them which you could like more with your music and also consider Nad.Do demo with all them if possible and decide carefully as the RX6 can sound bright and fatigue with the wrong amp on long term. The Arcam is a safe choice imo. which will do sound fine at lower/med. listening levels with all kind of music. So not the worst choice but def. can be bettered.

I would try looking at a Rotel RA1520, NAD C356BEE or Roksan Kandy K2. I would try without using a sub first - the RX6 may give you enough bass.

Good advice.

The music styles you listen to have plenty of bass, but it is mostly (some heavy electronic stuff apart), not true sub bass. What you really need is bass power and punch, in the couple of octaves above 60hz.

If you are using any kind of computer/iPod source, try using the eq to boost these frequencies whilst, if possible, cutting the lowest, sub 50hz frequencies.
