I'm currently running in these two and must say that out of the box they sound amazing! I've sacrificed my speakers to move house and give me more options of property types rather than blasting my neighbours!

21.5 hours precisely on both. How long do you reckon run in on the headphones will be?

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

I have a pair of HD650's, a different headphone i know but run in will no doubt be similar. For me they took about 50 hours to run in, so i think you might have a way to go yet!

But, the improvement after 50 hours was well worth the wait!

Rich, thanks for that. I didn't honestly think run in would be that much for headphones!

50 is fine....people claim 300 hours for my AKG k702! I am not waiting though, I mean you spend your hard saved money to buy the kit of your dreams and then wait??? I am listening to them since day 1 and personally dont mind, the nice part is you get to hear day to day how the sound is changing....I suggest you give it a try, seems like a fun game

Graham, you might wanna consider this. Tried it myself, I'll let you decide whether it works or not

OK, thanks for that, I listen when I can but I have to turn the amp off every 8 hours or so to cool the valves down....

About 45 hours in and they are sounding superb! Very happy with this combo.

Thanks for that. I'm nearly at my 50 hours so have my eye on some Mullard M8161s. Best bang for buck tubes according to the Little Dot guy on their forums.

I'm a bit nervous about the jumpers for EF92s though as what looks like a capacitor is very close and overlaps the jumper a bit!

Got some Mullard M8161s off eBay for £10.00. I'm still giving the stock tubes some time to get used to before I switch to these though.

All in all, very happy with this combo. Superb and I actually think I would have to spend a lot of money on speakers to replicate the sound!
