Having viewed some various forums from this site I've recently purchased some Linn Kit from ebay. First on the hit list was to purchase a Wakonda with an LK100, I then decided to purchase a later model Linn Axis turntable and Linn Karik III cd player.

Sounds good so far eh? Well read on...

Having eagerly unpacked the turntable I was gutted to find out there was no power. Rang up a Linn specialist and was told the problem could be a fuse which is located in the deck might be out of place (a common problem during delivery?!?!)

As if this were'nt bad enough, the Linn Karik III cd player which I brought has recently started skipping whilst listening to music, it's very random.. i could be listening 85% of an album then all of a sudden it will skip.

Can anyone tell me whether these are ‘real' problemd and whether my expected bargains are gonna be dents to my wallet..?!?!

I believe Linn have a reasonably chunky minimum charge for repairs, and some CD mechs aren't available anymore... 🙁

Don't know about the Axis as I haven't got a Linn turntable, but my Linn Ikemi is really fussy about scratches on CDs, I have actually had to copy some just so I can play them in the Ikemi and relegate the originals to the car.

There used to be a website with a list of LInn products and their problems/update solutions, but I can't find it at the moment, you could also try posting a message on Linn's own forum or contacting Linn customer support @ http://www.linn.co.uk/.

Start by cleaning the CD with a £3 cleaner from HMV. Sorted out my Primare - you can often get condensation first time a player comes into a house........
