I had a demo of 3D on an Lg today in Currys - looked nice. Have you tried John Lewis? Ours does the Sony in 3D from memory.

Thanks gel...do you think the 3d is better on the Sony or does the lg win???

I like 3D on the Sony's - it is my personal favourite but I have not demoed the new Sony's but based on last years it was good. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the Lg was. It had a man doing a karate kick and you could see his foot come right out. It was on the 55 inch and the depth was good. Black levels I would give to the Sony's. I liked the glasses on the Lg too. Sorry I can't be much more help.

I suppose it's easier for Currys to keep a passive 3D display on show (like the LG) as the glasses are cheap & don't need charging. If you want to check 3D on any of the other displays, just ask them. They'll be happy to demo the 3D for you.

Active vs passive 3D is mainly based on personal preference.
