Hi

I have a pair of Acoustic Energy Neo 3 speakers. I would like to buy an integrated amp. Do you guys think Leema acoustics Pulse amp will be good for the speakers or I would need to buy a better speakers for this amp?

I like all kinds of music, unplugged, concerts, lounge music. I also like a good bass and a clear detailed sound.

I was thinking of getting a Roksan Kandy K2 or Nad c356bee or Leema Pulse. Which one would be best?

I think the Leema Pulse is very good indeed, as are all things Leema, and there's a chap on this forum who knows just how good.

You can never have 'too good an amp' in my opinion, regardless of your speakers as these can always be updated at a later date.

I'm sure he will be along soon. 🙂

The Pulse is no longer offered on the Leema website.

There is the Leema Elements (amp/DAC for £1695), or the Tucana II (£3695), or the proposed new 'Quasar' (that will be pricey as it'll be a 180wpc device).

So I assume that you propose to buy a used one.

The pulse would be a great addition to your setup, its a great amp as are all leema acoustic products.

I'm in a weird place right now, i have had the tucana II for a year now and i have no plans of changing. (this is a first) lol

on a serious note the pulse is a well built amplifier and will serve you well i'm sure!

Thanks for all replies guys. Bought a used Lema Pulse for £480. It will be with me shortly 🙂

Excellent amp and a real bargain at the price. No idea whatsoever how it'll marry with AE speakers. Haven't heard AE speakers for about a decade.

The Pulse is a wonderful little box of tricks, though.

Blimey. Only been away a day doing normal family things and some inconsiderate soul posts a thread about the Pulse. (Raises eyebrows). *biggrin*

Aaaaanyway... back to normality. *wink*

Ok so I got the amp and I have to say I am very happy with the sound. Acoustic concert sounds amazing.

However I played some flac files yesterday from my Dune Smart HD using a optical cable with Arcam rDac and something is still not right. When I close my eyes I want to be able to imagine I am on a concert. But instead I feel like I am watching the concert on TV. It's like there was a barrier between me and the stage. The sound is not clear enough, lacks deep bass. I hope you understand what I mean.

Now I realise the problem is not this great amp but the speakers because I had the same feeling using my AV receiver Onkyo 905. Time to change them to something better and I was wondering if you guys can help me out a little bit.

So I am looking for a second hand speakers that will be able to give me a clear sound with lots of treble and deeper bass.

I guess I can spend around £450. Will probably use ebay.co.uk
