Regrettably, I could not afford one. Though I did have a British-made (allegedly

) Metrosound amplifer, which was similar, flat with slider switches (although it looked nowhere near as sexy).

IIRC, that was just the preamp. The power amp was a chunky black ribbed cylinder that stood on its end. It came out around the time that all I could afford was an Amstrad IC2000 (no not the plastic music centre, but a reasonable budget amp) but I really really wanted one. I think I read some years later that the slider controls were horribly unreliable, but at the time I believe it was hailed as a masterpiece
