The W5500 has built in images that look amazing but what if I get bored with the ones they provide? Is it possible to download other images of the same quality from somewhere?

Are these images HD?

I know that the sets are able to display pics via a usb stick so I would be able to view my personnel collection. But if I wanted to produce image qualities as good as the preinstalled ones what speciforcation of camera should I look for? And would the set be able to upscale the quality?

I havent yet invested in a set but willl soon and would like to get my mind straight on bits first, thanks!

I assume they're HD (720p at least), but I doubt if you can update them.

I tried my 5MP Kodak digital compact with my Sony, and the pictures from that looked amazing too - although they were slow to display (not sure if a better/faster USB reader would make any difference).

How are these sets when it comes to screen burn as they are now adveertising that the sets are able to display a static image so how do we stand as im sure the manufacturers would not except liability under the warrenty for such damage

Fine as all Sony sets are LCD which are far less prone to Image retension over a Plasma but it is still a possibilty if you left a static image displayed for too long.

My advice when using either a LCD or Plasma to display your photo's is to set the images as a slide show and leave say a 5/10 second interval for each image, this way it is long enough to view the picture but absolutly no risk to the screen

Sensible advice, but I don't think screen burn's an issue with LCD. Playing games with static on-screen icons, HUD displays etc, that are quite sharp and high-contrast, doesn't leave any after-image on my TV (yet ... !).
