LCD Screens - Broadcast TV Picture Quality?

Just wondering which LCD screens would match TV pictures for CRT? Are there any which are particularly good for this? Seems like every time I see one of these in a shop showing broadcast TV, the picture is at best okay to good, but not what you'd routinely call excellent. DVD playback seems fine, but as we watch TV more than we do DVD, I'm not convinced I need to make the jump (or the spend) from the present CRT to the likely 32" LCD.

Any thoughts on this?

Yes I agree, some LCD's do a better job of scaling tv broadcasts than others. Its not always possible to get a good idea in a shop though because I think sometimes the signal is split between many TV's at once which can't help with the quality. I think its probably only worth upgrading if you plan to watch HD sometimes too. I might be wrong though, there might be some LCD's out there that do an excellent job with std def which can rival a CRT TV.

Tv's tend to look quite dodgey in shops because they are all fed off the same aeriel, i certainly don't have any complaints with my panasonic 46PZ81, it looks fine on SD materiel.

If you're thinking of getting a new tv you may be best waiting a few months, as new tv's are coming out over the next few months.
