I have just won a lovely old Leak receiver on eBay and it arrived safely this morning. It has arrived with no plug fitted, probably to prevent damage in transit. My question is will fitting a standard 13 amp plug be ok?

It's a Leak 3400 from I beleive the late 70's / early 80's and it's a beast at 21 inches wide (it won't fit on my hifi rack) plus all the sockets are din including the speakers, a trip to maplin is required.

Thanks for your help in advanced.

Regards Russell

Hiya,

Yep, a 13A plug will go on fine.

You could get some gotham cables - pretty cheap, and well thought of.
Din lead here

They also have a selection of other leads. Last time I tried to solder up some leads I managed to solder my middle finger - painful!!!

Just checked and it is made for the UK (240V). Power is rated at 270 watts max, searching on the net it looks like a 3 amp fuse is required.Cheers for the link to gotham cables, wasn't sure they did din cables, did have visions of soldering various body parts! Thank you Naim.Just 2 pin din speaker plugs required from maplins then. Can't wait to hear it, it looks like it would have been very expensive 25 years ago
