Laptop noise coming through speakers! any ideas to stop it?

Just as a little follow-up;

I treated myself to a Musical Fidelity V-psu for christmas, not to solve this issue, but to see if I got better sound, and I never liked the hot plug.

Well, it has solved the problem of the hum (nearly, still very very quiet at 12 oclock volume) so I am well chuffed. Plus I do seem to have fuller and lower bass and a generally meatier sound, so yay!
