I'm looking at speakercables for my system (B&W 684, Denon 1500 amp and cdp). But which speakercable is good? The atlas hyper 2.0 or Kimber 8pr or 8VS? Music is almost rock, but i don't like a bright sound.

I think if you are keeping your current kit then something like Chord at £6/m is as good as anything. The Kimber and Atlas are probably overkill. However, if you're planning on upgrading all your kit in the near future and you want speaker cable that could work with more expensive amps etc then either of these would be a good choice.

I'm guessing that you mean the current Denon PMA1500AE and DCD1500AE rather than the older models from the 90s?

I'd also suggest Chord Company. I used to have the same CD and amp as you and I found Chord Company Rumour 2 worked very well and helped to bring a lot more potential out of the amplifier.

Yes; i have the current Denon PMA1500AE and DCD1500AE. I've heard the Kimber 4tc. Very good, but perhaps a little too bright.

The Kimber 8pr cost 14,50 Euro p. m.; the 8VS 29,50 p. m.

The Atlas Hyper 2.0 (2 x 2 m.)original factory fitted with plugs can i get for 130,-- Euro.

I think the cord is not much cheaper?

Isn't Kimber or Atlas better?

The Chord is £6/m for Silverscreen. No point in spending more with the kit you have.

peterpan:I don't like silver. It's too bright! Also i don't like Qed.

Chord Silverscreen is made by Chord Co. (not QED) and despite the name its not silver either. The Denon kit you have tends towards being pronounced at the frequency extremes (as if someone has set the bass and treble to +1 each), and the Chord Co. cables help to even that out a little.

It's only too bright if your system is already too bright, which your Denons may well be.
