I'm sure if you buy from an authorised Kef dealer it will be a 5yr warranty.

As for spraying, probably. It would take a lot of effort do yourself. Masking, rubbing down with wet and dry, plastic primer, more rubbing down, several coats of paint and lacquer etc. I have sprayed car interior bits and it takes a bit of work to get it looking right. TBH, I wouldn't want to do speakers! You could pay someone to do it but it would probably cost the same as buying the black ones in the first place.

UK stock from a UK authorised dealer comes with a five year warranty. There are no silver K2 packs in the UK - I had this enquiry yesterday - so I would be very wary on the product and the price. The £220 you save now may cost you a lot more. Unless you have a proffesional facility I doubt spraying the speakers would be a good idea.

Things are normally very cheap for a reason and £480 is way out of line with the rest of the country.

Thanks for your comments,I have seen them on PLAY.COM for that price not a unknown company.

They still may be non-UK. The fact they are only offering a one year warranty suggests this. I would think that paying the extra for black UK stock with the 5 year warranty and the benefit of local service would be a wise investment. Any warranty you have is with the retailer not the manufacturer, pick your reatailer wisely and the support you receive may outweigh the price difference.

Hi

I ordered kef2005.3 in black from RS online for £799.00 last Wednesday (16/09/09). They arrived on Saturday. Perfect. Went into RS to buy speaker cable same day and saw black kef package for £599.00 and thought it must be with the K1 sub. Thought I'd ask anyway and guy said £599.00 and definitely the K2 sub. Told him I'd just paid £799.00 with RS online. £200.00 refunded straight away onto my card Think I got an excellent bargain. Researched long and hard and couldn't find anything close to this price. Get yourself down to Richer Sounds in store!

I also noticed that Richer Sounds had the black 2005.3 package (with Kube 2 sub) a few months ago, and so I was going to purchase from them but they couldn't offer me home delivery.

So I went to my local Sevenoaks, who I'd purchased my TV from, and they did a price-match with free delivery!

Both shops offer great service, and I'm very happy with my Kefs (connect to my Sony DA2400ES, purchased for £429 from play.com, when I couldn't find local shops who had it in stock for less than £600!).

I have been unable to contact my local RS all day to find out instore price,I just wish i bought a few weeks ago when i could have picked them up a lot cheaper.
Dont know weather to wait for a deal somewhere or pick them up in silver for £500 from RS,they only have 30 units left in silver, but i really wanted them in black.
My pana v10 has a bit of silver on it top quality looking, has anyone on the site got them in silver and are they as good looking as the black, thanks.

Hi, I've got the Kef 2005.2 in silver and if the .3s have the same silver finish then it will be matt and quite easily scratched off. I have the matching stands and on of the bases has a nasty scratch from one of the little laddoes toys. It's not very robust I imagine the lacquer on the black finish will be better in that respect.
