KEF PSW2010 vs KEF KUBE-1 and KEF KHT1005.2 vs KEF KHT2005.2

Hi,

I'm just about to buy the Onkyo 606 but having a problem selecting the speaker package up £400.

I've just made a order from Audio Affair on the KEF KHT1005.2 Gloss Black for £349 inc delivery. Because they made a mistake on the website selling at £299 but then quickly changed it back to £399. So the guy there said he would do it for £349 to honor the mistake they made since the cheapest online price is £369.90.

I just need to know if the KEF KHT2005.2 are better because I'm having second thoughts on the 1005.2s. Even though I did get them for £349.

I can get the 2005.2 from Richer Sounds for £399 which is my limit. Or does any one know any other speakers that are better with a budget of £400.

Also what SUB is better/reliable the KEF PSW2010 or KEF KUBE-1. I've been reading that the PSW2010 amp isn't that reliable.

Hi Leon

I have had both sets and can say with 100% certainty that the 2005's are miles better. A completely different league! I was happy with my 2005's then due to divorce had to get a fresh set of speakers. Chose the 1005's for their price, thinking they wouldn't be too different from the 2005's. How wrong I was. The 1005's had virtually no midrange at all. IMO they are OK as rear speakers but that's all. At only £399 the 2005's are a fantastic bargain and definitely the ones to get!!

Thanks mark 1 great response really helpful. I guess I have to flog these 1005.2's then, shouldn't be to bad since i got them for £349.
