I've got the KHT-1005s mounted on those brackets. They have a small degree of adjustment in them, so it is possible to toe-in your speakers but not by very much.

Which KEF's are you talking about specifically as there are a lot of egg models.

I have the 3500 SE's and the brackets are built in to the egg stands.

They are designed to be mounted from either the underneath or the back of the speaker (depending on wall or horizontal surface mounting) and they use a ball mount so they can be swivelled in any direction within the physical limits of the speaker meeting the wall making the totally adjustable in all directions within those limits.

They also sound, spot on!!

they are the earlier model 1005 from richer sounds-i have ordered 3 wall mount fixings with the system, and also wondered if these could be used if you just wanted them on a bookshelf?!

No, the brackets are specifically for wall mounting. But the 1005s will sit on a flat surface on their own - they have a flat bottom with a protective rubber heel.

the thing is my unit goes right into the corner of two walls, and instead of purchasing two stands which would cost another 60 quid i was wondering if i could use the remaining two brackets ,one on either side of the tv,however i have noticed that the rear fixing plate of the bracket is dead straight! So is there something i could stick to the wall first, and then attach my speakers to,so that they both face where i sit[facing me] ,as i have a feeling that the brackets do not swivel either,am i right?

Can't think of an elegant solution to that problem. Perhaps screw some wooden blocks to the wall, then the Kef brackets into the wooden blocks at right angles to the wall? It'd get your speakers facing the right direction, but I'm not sure it'd look good. Why don't you just sit the speakers on your unit, either side of the TV?

hi mate, yeah i thought of that but the unit is the same width as my tv[ about 32 inch],but just wondered if left/right and middle speaker all might look a bit cramped in front of the tv!-shall try it !
