Just seen this at Richer Sounds Sammy 40inch 4K for under £1000

What is the point of 4K on a 40" screen, on that small size there would be next to no difference between 4K and full HD

Some people do not have room for more than a 40 inch TV. My local pub has now become 3 & 4 bedroom houses but they are not designed if you are 6'4" and you can't swing a cat in them.

I saw this samsung 40" TV today in Richersounds Norwich while on my travels. It was amoungst a load of 1080p sets playing BBC One HD, so it was upscaling the picture. I had to ask if they had any 4K TV's as I couldn't tell the difference between this and the 1080p sets when upscaling. Defo not worth the purchase on a set this small

1080p pictures will look better on a 1080p screen. If the pictures look the same, it means the upscaling quality of the 4K TV is brilliant. You don't buy a 4K TV to expect 1080p pictures to look better. They're for 4K pictures. You need to compare 4K pictures on a 4K TV vs 1080p pictures on a 1080p TV for the real difference.

reading it like that

I had in my head a 1080p picture on a 4K TV should look better than on a 1080p TV. Clearly not the case
