Hi im getting a new LCD tv in a few months and it is bigger than my previous one. As this is the case i most likely will have to position it differently in my room. This new position for this tv would be in an area were it is more exposed by sunilght through the window. The TV will be on the side of the room and the window is at the back of the room so it is not facing the window, but depending on the time of day the light will hit it strongly at some point. My previous TV could fit beside the window so no external sunlight got at it. Do you think that this new location will be any worse, as maybe the extra light will affect the image on the TV screen, or am i just making an issue out of nothing??

To be totally honest (through experience of moving our TV from the corner to the wall opposite our window), you can only answer these questions by having the TV in the place you want it and seeing for yourself. The north/south aspect and other local builidings or trees casting shadows (and your own eyes) make every situation unique.

Try your TV in this new position (even if it means trailing a few leads or extensions) and see if it is something that you like and can enjoy in the viewing condtions you expect to have. How reflective is the TV you want? This can be a factor (my Brother's Panasonic plasma is like a mirror, but this year's models (most) are coated). Some LCD are much more able to cope with sunlight than others, regardless of how bright the picture is, but all will be hard to see if swamped in sunshine (when we get any).

Please don't trip on anything or knock your set over if you are going to try a temporary test though.
