John Lewis price match

Hello I was sure i once read that john lewis price matched on TV's that were cheaper in other stores.

is this still the case?

as richer sounds has the sony kdl40w4500 for 800 odd pounds and JL have it for just over 1000.

would be nice if they did, anyone have any idea?

The JL price match is subject to certain conditions which RS generally meet. You need to request a price match on the same terms -ie the price from RS with the 5 yr warranty like JL so in this case around £880 (10% of cost for 5 yr warranty at RS)- your local RS store must also have it on display and in stock at the time JL do the match (quite often Monday morning)

So check the stock/price on a Saturday at RS and make the request on a Saturday afternoon at JL (can be done over the phone).You should get an answer by the Wednesday.

If you are in Scotland forget it as JL have been removing the price match from the area.

Yeah, they've moved the goalposts a little, can't say I blame them.

It's still a decent compromise though, as their warranty is prett decent IMO, and the service was always top notch at the branch I used to visit.

JL price match is a joke now and I no longer shop there.

If you want a price match they'll no longer ring up the retailer or take it from a web page or advert. Instead they insist now on sending someone physically out to the store to check the price in question and availability. This can mean a wait of I think up to 10 days (from memory), the exact period is in their price match brochure.

Either way, its such a hassle it simply isn't worth it. How many people want to wait 10 days? And whats to say if you choose to wait, they haven't chnaged price or gone out of stock elsewhere in the mean time in which case they will refuse you anyway?

how do, i got my plasma from jl. rang trafford centre because i thought there would be more competition with it being in a city. saved £200. its only a phone call.
