Not that I beleive you're in need of the money (cough, cough), but have you ever thought of using the website to allow the very firms you review to advertise their job vacancies?

Surely some of your readers will be ideal candidates for opportunities across this specialist field (present economic conditions aside). Plus, no doubt you'd offer these at lower than market prices - so everyone wins! (Except the recruitment agencies!

[That said, I hope one your sister mags or parent company isn't also into recruitment]

Good idea...but one point please...You can't go to an interview looking like that! Your hair is too long and your teeth need fixing

Also make sure you're under the age of 50 or you probably won't even get an interview!

And be prepared because when you reach 64 under the government's new retirement law your employer can force you to retire at 65

Train to be a plumber instead...and become self employed concentrating on Domestic Heating and Water systems...that way you are more likely to have longevity in employment because you can retire when you want..You can also still listen to music on your IPOD while you work

I'm with professorhat - sounds a tad unpleasant to say the least. I could go further, but this isn't the place.

No plumbing from me I'm afraid - just double-entry book-keeping.

Big Chris:Well it could happen. I used to work for the gas board and hold an NVQ level 3 in gas engineering.

Being forcibly regassed could be even worse...

How the smeg does a guy get taken seriously around here? This was supposed to be a serious suggestion to offer a financial opportunity to WHFS&V and better still link good people with good jobs!

Now we're talking about the invasive topics of double-entry, re-gassing & being re-plumbed! This has really gone off-topic somewhere along the line (Andrew!).

So WHFS&V - is it a goer? Just think of the satisfaction of connecting people up with their perfect jobs.

No facility for classified ads on here, but any audio/hi-fi/home entertainment company seeking staff is of course welcome to post on here and see what the tide brings in...

Well then all you savvy-minded, penny-wise companies. You heard it here from Andrew - if you're looking to recruit & don't fancy paying out up to 50% of salary costs in agency fees, just post it here instead! You know it makes sense.

[Hope no-one reading this works in the recruitment industry - this is the last thing they need!]

Anyone know any such companies based in the North-West? I think we have some good on-line retailers (SoundandVisiononline, HiFiBitz) plus I think Alphason are originally from Bolton, Intempo are in Manchester & Sharp I think used (?) to be well-represented in Manchester. Any pointers welcome!
