Is the 40H6400 still the one to beat?

Hi,

a friend is looking for help with a TV purchase and I was thinking of recommending the 40H6400, but I'm sure it's gone up in price? JL have it at £429 whereas a different friend bought a 48H6400 for about £459 last year?

Is the H6400 still the one to beat? Should I be looking at something else? Any of you bargain hunters have tips on getting it cheaper but with warranty? Thanks!

Richer Sounds also have it at £429, six-year guarantee. The 48-inch version is £549. I don't think the 48-inch version was ever as low as £459 though, I seem to remember that Currys at one time had it around £489, though I could certainly be wrong.

Samsung will be pleased that last year's H6400 series is still selling well and still holding its price, no discounts yet even though the successor range, the JU6400 (flat) is now widely available.
