One you need to have a listen to first I think. I've heard from some that they think the two work together well, whereas others have found the system too forward and bright, and thus tiring after a while.
We normally pair up the Onkyo SR507 with the Jamo's as it really works as a combo. As professorhat mentions the Sony may be a little bright with the Jamos. If your room is not too big you should be ok.
I agree. The JAMO A102 worked better with my Onkyo than it did with the Sony when I initially heard it on a demo, where I found it to be relatively bright over extended listening.

I used to have the Jamo's driven by the Sony 1200es (my lounge is 18ft x 12ft), no bright issues for me. I would imagine that the 1200es is a better receiver than the 820 but not by much.
jasonrhodes@tiscali.co.uk:Ive just looked and my av receiver spec says to pair with 80hm speakers but, the Jamo's are 6ohm would this matter and if so what would be the impact?
