daveh75:yes, but if you only have a single output lnb, and intend getting freesat with inbuilt pvr, you will need to get a dual lnb

Thanks for that. Only got single lnb and wasnt planning on a pvr....so alls good.

I have Sky+, and took delivery of a Panasonic PZ81 a few weeks ago - at the time of installation, I was informed that I'd need to run another cable from the quad-LNB to the new TV to enable me to enjoy the Freesat channels, but after buying a Panasonic DMR-EZ27 DVD recorder last weekend, I'm wondering if I could disconnect one of the cables from the Sky+ box, hook it up to the TV, and use the new DVD to record off the TV guide?!?

Hope this makes sense to someone on here - grateful for any help.

Cheers!!

you could disconnect the second feed, but obviously u wouldnt be able to record onto the hard drive, as u have a quad lnb any way i dont see y you dont run another feed from it, for the cost of a length of cable and connectors its worth it,

If ou only have one feed from the LNB so this will only support one box it can either be plugged into the sky box so you can watch sky or it can be plugged into a Freesat TV or a Freesat set-top box.If you have two feeds into a sky plus box already then you could swap one to a freesat TV or set top box.

TBH you are no better off than using sky plus in that you can still only watch one sat channel while recording another sat channel whichever way you do it.

As the previous poster said you'd be better off running the third cable from the LNB - that would give you the chance to record 2 while watching a third. If you see what I mean.
