is it worth upgrading my onkyo 605 to the 709??

somehow my comment didnt get there.

anyway. i am thinking of changing over to a 709. would the cash outlay be reflected in the better amp = better sound? i have b&w mt10 speakers. i was also thinking of adding a dedicated br player as i only ever used a ps3 ? any recommendation for around £150?

While the PS3 can be improved upon for Bluray performance, your money would be better spent on the receiver at this stage. The '09 range are far better musically, as they're far more refined and well behaved than earlier '05/'06 models. The better you drive your speakers, the better they'll sound.

i have the b & w mt10 speakers. will the 709 be compatible with these speakers. im lost with watts per channel . impedance. range. i want the best out of these speakers so what should i be aiming for as regards an amp to best match the specs of my speakers
