Bit of a 'how long's a piece of string' question, but does the wee Boston Acoustics Soundware XS have sufficient room-filling oomph for an area that's 16ft x 16ft with a high-ish (Georgian) ceiling? (Will only be used for home cinema duties.) Ta [:)]

I have not heard these speakers, but I guess they are similar to the Bose cubes, I previously had some of these about 7 years ago in a room of similar size and they filled the room just fine.

I think these Boston speakers get a good review, can you not see if you can demo some at a dealer?

Boston XS has a five-star WHF?S&V

I intend demo'ing, but don't want to go to the trouble if it's a non-starter.

I went into Richer Sounds a couple of weeks ago to demo the BA Soundware and Q Acoustics.

Personally I preferred the sound of the Q Acoustics, but the salesman also hooked up the Kef 1005.2 system which was more expensive at £400. I found the sound more powerful with more active rears when deming with Avatar compared with the other two. In the went for the Kefs and went £100 over budget, but the increase in quality was well worth the extra £££.

Having said that the BA's do a good job of filling a decent sized room, but the larger Q Acoustics (for £30 less) sounded better IMO
