i mean is there any decent movies due to be shot in 3d ? not the likes of ice age 3 , or cloudy with a chance of meatballs , sure , those kind of movies have their place , but some real movies , with actors , a good plot , bit of action , nice locations etc ?

maybe the next bond movie is gonna be 3d ? maybe a decent 3d horror/sci-fi movie is on the horizon ? , maybe there will be another bourne movie , in 3d ? perhaps tarantino or scorcese have plans for a 3d movie ?

if not , if theyre going to be just animated fantasy/kiddies movies , then 3d certainly aint for me , i have no plans to pay for 3d sport , so i guess thats it , im buying a new 50v20 , and a few decent movies , and leaving 3d to the kiddies ... right ???

These are upcoming films which are proper 3d (i.e. not added post filming). Certainly a fair amount of "kids" stuff - but some others too. For me 3D is more about gaming where it has a very tangible benefit.

2010
Despicable Me
How to Train Your Dragon
Jackass 3D
Legend of the Guardians
Megamind
Resident Evil: Afterlife
Sanctum
Saw 3D (Saw VII)
Shrek Forever After
Space Chimps 2
Step up 3D
StreetDance 3D
Tangled
The Last Reef
The Mortician
Toy Story 3
Tron Legacy

2011
Drive Angry
Hugo Cabret
Kung Fu Panda 2
Pirates Of The Caribbean 4
The Smurfs
Tintin
Transformers 3
Underworld 4
Yogi Bear

2012
Ice Age: Continental Drift
Mad Max: Fury Road
Men in Black III
Spider-Man 4
The Avengers

I'll also add gaming wise, the PS3 is pushing a lot of 3D enabled games.

Gran Turismo 5
Killzone 3
Motorstorm Apocalypse (I think)

With more to come.

Same decision I made when buying a projector a short while ago.

I'm not really sold on 3D anyway with the glasses but ultimately I thought if it takes off by the time there's anything that I'd potentially really feel I've got to watch in 3D it will be at least a few years so no point in paying over the odds for 3D hardware now. There was nothing interesting in the pipeline except potentially a Martin Scorcese film.

People equate the 3D change with going from b&w to colour but there were no downsides to colour, and it was an obvious step up in realism. With 3D there seem to be a few drawbacks and varied opinions on whether it does actually enhance the film experience.

Agree at the moment that games are the big area I see for it, but thought for that there are cheap £500 or less projectors available so could get a separate one if required, (though I'm not really into games these days).
