I recently bought a Logitech Harmony One, which has been by far and away the best all-in-one remote I've owned, and about the best value purchase I think I've ever made for my set-up. The one drawback I have found is that it's infra-red and not radio frequency. This has become a particular bone of contention as I'm looking to get a couple of lights to create some better lighting for watching my screen than ceiling lights. I've looked around and decided that I really like the Philips Living Colours lights, which have the big plus of being remote controlled - however they work on RF, and I don't want to have to use the second remote supplied for these now that I've just finally gone back to a single remote again. Could I use an IR to RF transmitter such as this to transmit RF to the lights from my Harmony? http://www.reallycleverhomes.co.uk/acatalog/Marmitek_PowerMid_XS_infrared_receiver.html I don't see why it wouldn't work from the fundamentals of receiving an IR command and transmitting an RF one, but could I get it to transmit the *right* codes in RF? I know I'd still need line-of-sight to the transmitter, I don't see that as a problem.
