This maybe posted in the wrong section, but...
What's happened to the planned due date of today (17 June) for the firmware update version 3 for the iphone and itouch????
I've read on the internet that they've delayed it for a day, but have no reason!?
Does anyone have any news??

Well, it said it was due out Wednesday, but no time was given. Remember, this will be a US centric driven release as well and they are at least 5 hours behind us.

And if it has been delayed a day, I suspect it wasn't for no reason.

This is the website I read that it was being delayed:

Good point on the time difference - didn't think about that!

Further, on that link there is a further link to pretty much confirm what professorhat was saying!

Cheers Clare
I've just spoken to my better half (who works for O2) and she has confirmed exactly the same thing!

LOL - possibly although as I'm sure we all know, often working for a big company doesn't mean you know more than the general public on such issues!! ;)

I just asked the man in the next office along: Tom Dunmore of Stuff magazine - he's got Steve Jobs on speed-dial

Yeah, bit of a con isn't it - I had to pay for the update to 2.0 as well. I've not yet had it fully explained why iPod Touch users have to pay...

Still, like a fool I paid last time and I'm sure I will this time as well once I get my Mac back up and running.

So have I. And I'm not sure why either. It's somehow compulsive.

Possibly the dullest £5.99 I've ever spent (for the Touch at least). Shaking it to shuffle songs requires you to have a right arm like Arnold Schwarzenegger an' all (though as luck would have it...)

Welcome to the wonderful world of Apple fandom. The queue outside the Apple Store for the new iPhone starts just over there, and we'll be blogging live from the queue as the countdown to the doors opening happens.

Or maybe not.

Finally installed... Kept getting an error in iTunes since seven saying 'the iPhone activation server isÿunavailable'ÿ- guess a few other Apple users were looking forward to this too!ÿ

Cut, copy and paste and a search feature were taken for granted in Windows Mobile but only Apple could make them seem a great new innovation!ÿTurn-by-turn GPS will be handy for work when I'm not in my own car though! :)

At least there's no real reason for me to buy a iPhone 3G S, the new 'features' really aren't that special IMO.ÿ

MMS is handy, but overall I am not keen on the changes! Cut, copy and paste is very annoying while web-browsing..... Also it makes my iPhone freeze constantly now. Not freeze for long, only about half a second while loading or selecting something. It has removed the silkyness olf the interface....... Very disappointing. Anyone else experience this?
