How do they get these deals? Do they just get offered stock from a distributor desperate to liquidate stock, raise cash?

Can anyone buy or is it a membership club? Edit - I see it’s a £42 annual fee. Fair enough for £650 off though!

You have to pay £45 now for membership for a year now believe but yes anyone can sign up and buy.

I will just look up membership details for you then edit my post.

Scroll down the page until you get to online membership. Anyone can buy and use online membership. For instore warehouse membership you have to qualify by having a qualification or work in a particular sector.

I haven’t had to pay the £42 membership yet, it used to be £15 I think. Thinking about it my dad has a warehouse membership, so he doesn’t have to pay to use the online shop, I might just use his account in the future if I want to buy something, and with his membership you can take it back in a warehouse and get a refund too, with just the online membership you can’t do that.

I saved £1000 on my TV. 🙂 We shop for food, drink and house items too. Plants, ornaments like Enigma garden ones, sofas, garden furniture, lens wipes, deodorant, tooth paste, muffins, sandwiches, people buy in serious bulk in there like the traders. Bottled water too is really cheap, coffee also. We go most weeks.

Like it or not that’s the way shops are going now, look at Amazon and they charge you for delivery with prime memberships fees and AO online. At least Costco is free delivery.

Amazon Prime is optional, I only use Prime when it is offered free and, I very rarely pay any extra for delivery with Amazon.

I agree, but I knew some people would find the memory useful so I posted it. The one I bought was much cheaper than that.

Of course, so it clearly doesn't align with your shopping habits. For large families, bulk buying at Costco is far cheaper than shopping at Asda / Tesco / Sainsbury's / Aldi etc. For regular shoppers, they get much more value than the membership cost.

Costco is primarily a wholesale grocery store that also happens to sell electronic items like TVs. If you don't have a Costco locally, it's not for you anyway.
