If an internet radio station broadcast at 192 kbps, is there any point in playing downloads of a higher bit rate?

That would seem to be like asking if a black cab can only do 50mph is there any point buying a car that can do 70?

I don't understand what point you're making but then I also don't listen to internet radio.

I'm going to be doing a show on an internet radio station, and as I was downloading some stuff to play, it dawned on me that there was very little point in downloading the songs at 320, if the broadcast will only be at 192.

I know it's very likely to be a stupid question, but I'd just like it confirmed by someone who knows more about downloaded music than I.

I've gone for 192, as the stuff I'm downloading is nearly all stuff I already have on vinyl, and the downloads probably won't get played at home. I could play the vinyl, but I'd rather not have to keep trawling records to and from the studio, hence the downloads.
