I am considering the TX-P42G10B as a replacement form now my much lamanted TH42px80.

I have a SKY connection. But this new set comes with intergated freeview.

How does this actually work? Will I need a second dish on my chimney?????

need to make this decision fast as no TV!

The Freesat utilises a cable the same as your sky box.

So you may need a new lnb on the dish if you do not have a spare connection from which to run a cable to the freesat socket on the back of the tv.
If you are not using the sky feed then this should run the freesat as is.

Yes you can. Freesat is targeted mainly at people who want some HD programming via satellite but without paying Sky a monthly subscription. If you've already got Sky, and are happy with it, then you don't need Freesat (unless you particularly want ITV HD).

Well thats what I do, so my freesat connection is currently not connected.
I have got this set to skip on the input settings so the TV never uses it.
So assuming that you have Sky+HD for HD channels you may never use freesat, otherwise you will want the HD channels on freesat?

If you've got Sky+HD then you're Freesat connection is pretty much redundant unless you decide to cancel your Sky subscription. It's basically an alternative option to those wanting satellite television and high definition content, albeit very limited, for free rather than paying a monthly subscription charge.
