Hey Guys,

Recently I have been contemplating arranging a sort of Home Cinema setup. I have a Humax 32" LCD IDTV (LP32-TDR1) but Home Cinema isn't the main cause for me doing this. I also have a Microsoft Xbox 360 which plays my Music CDs, DVDs, Games and is also wirelessly connected to my laptop so I can play my MP3s.

Anyway onto the point, I am looking for a cheap affordable system as I do not have an income due to my age. All I want is Extremely Loud Speakers with good Bass so I can play my music. I also want it to be able to work well when watching a film and playing games.

I had in mind the Q Acoustics 1010 Speakers put in the rear of my room and the Q Acoustics 1000S Sub Woofer.

As I am so inexperienced I am going to take everything said as constructive advice and use it to help me buy the best products for the most affordable price. I also realise you can't have good stuff for peanuts but as I said above, money is tight for me.

Also is it a good idea to have 2 speakers in the rear of the room seeing as the TV is situated directly in the centre at the front of the room. Oh and also could anyone inform me as to where a sub woofer would be best suited.

I know this is a lot to ask from you, the user, but having been to many shops and talked to many sales assistants just trying to get their comission I thought I could better put my trust in you guys.

Thank you very much in advance, hopefully I'll get some responses 🙂

Speakers at the front of the room, either side of the screen, would be best. And you'll need an amplifier between the source components and the speakers - I'd suggest Marantz PM4001 if you're going to stick to stereo, or an Onkyo TX-SR505 if your plan is to go surround sound at some point.

Thank you very much for responding. Im sorry but my knowledge of Audio is extremely minimal.

What are meant by the source components? Also what do you think of the speakers I was thinking of getting (Q Acoustics 1010). Do I need an amplifier and a subwoofer?

Ah, I see.

Can you reccomend any decent but cheap amplifiers? Will I still need a subwoofer?

Also does anyone have any knowledge of the Q Acoustics equipment?
